Profile

Post in: German

I’m an American-born and American-educated Sociologist, living and working in Germany since 2002.

My expertise lies in gendered career development, leadership practices, leadership structures and team-based leadership, and the contemporary challenges of combining work and family.

I use an international and life course perspective in my work. From September 2011 onward, I hold the Professorship for the Sociology of Work at the Goethe-University, Frankfurt. For three years, from 2008 to 2011, I co-led the RWTH Aachen University as Vice-Rector for Human Resources Management and Development. Between 2007 and August 2011 I was professor of sociology with the specialty Gender and Life Course Research.
